This year's event is Friday, October 11, from Noon to 6 p.m. The AfterWalk is held from 5 pm to 8 pm in the showroom of Drury Design.
The Glen Ellyn Kitchen Walk is a project of the Baird & Warner GoodWill Network in Glen Ellyn. Begun in 2003 as a fundraiser for Bridge Communities, it has grown from a local happening into a Chicago-area event, with people coming from Wilmington, Orland Park, Chicago, Glenview and even Michigan and Minnesota!
The Kitchen Walk has been featured on WGN-TV's News at Noon in a segment featuring AfterWalk chef Pete Trusiak.
100% of the funds raised through ticket sales and our Silent Auction go directly to Bridge Communities - no "administrative costs" are deducted.
As a company-wide entity, the mission of the GoodWill Network is to help the homeless and those in need in the communities in which we work and live.
In Glen Ellyn and Wheaton, we at Baird & Warner see our relationship with Bridge Communities as a manifestation of this philosophy. Here in our community is an organization with outstanding dedication and a highly commendable record of service.
We are proud of our association with Bridge Communities and are pleased to once again name them as the sole beneficiary of the 2013 Kitchen Walk.
Tickets purchased in advance are $25, the cost of providing housing and services for one person for one night.
Tickets purchased the day of the event, Friday October 11, are $30.
All tickets include admission to both the Kitchen Walk and the AfterWalk at Drury Design.
